To mark its 60th anniversary in 2014, Malcolm Allan, is creating 20 new jobs and is forecasting a 50% rise in production following a £2.9m finance deal with Bank of Scotland.

The deal has allowed Malcolm Allan to streamline its production processes by moving out of its outdated premises inFalkirkand opening a new state of the art headquarters in Larbert.

Using the latest food manufacturing equipment, Malcolm Allan will see an overall 55% rise in sales during the festive season, including its popular festive steak pie.

The family business, which specialises in beef, haggis, black pudding, pies and sausage production, is now looking to significantly increase its sales inScotlandand target the rest of theUKfor the first time in 2014.

Gordon Allan, Sales Director at Malcolm Allan, commented that the acquisition of the new premises marks a key point in the company’s history and an ability to introduce the brand to a wider market across theUK. He said: “Moving our production premises was primarily a result of outgrowing the old site – which is great news for the company as we mark our 60th anniversary in 2014. Our new Larbert headquarters is allowing us to significantly increase our production capacity and realise our growth ambitions by delivering a more modern, efficient service.

“It was particularly important to make the move prior to the festive season so we can utilise the extra capacity to deliver the 100% uplift we see on some lines during the festive period. InScotland, Hogmanay is as popular as Christmas so we have the two busiest weeks of the year back to back.”
