Speciality Brands is expanding its Canadian whisky offering with the addition of Lot No. 40 Dark Oak, a rich and bold expression from distiller Corby Spirit and Wine.
Lot No. 40 Dark Oak retains the essence of Lot No. 40 but displays a more intense profile and is ideal for the seasoned whisky drinker.
It is made from 100% rye grain which is unusual in modern day whisky production as the grain is very difficult to process on its own. The liquid is first distilled in a column still and then a copper pot still and aged in new, lightly charred barrels before being finished in heavily charred American oak barrels. This finish imparts additional complexities and intensity to the whisky.
