Natural cheese slice brand Leerdammer has announced the launch of ‘Talk It Out,’ a new mental health initiative in support of the YoungMinds charity.
Talk It Out will use comedy to help parents and young people get talking and have better conversations about mental wellbeing.
This follows research that found three-quarters (76%) of parents said their children’s mental health had deteriorated while waiting for support from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.
Local comedian Stuart Goldsmith performed a one-off special stand-up gig at Bristol Grammar School (Monday 13 January) to mark the launch. Students and parents were encouraged to tackle talking about mental wellbeing through humour, and attendees were also made aware of the expert support, advice and guidance that YoungMinds offers.
Leerdammer brand owner Lactalis hopes to roll the initiative out across the UK later in the year, following an initial pilot scheme in January.
