Lavazza has launched a new decaf coffee blend to address misconceptions about decaffeinated coffee.
The launch comes in the wake of recent Lavazza research revealing that Brits believe drinking decaf is a compromise as 32% of coffee drinkers believe it’s inferior to regular coffee and 46% assume it doesn’t taste as good.
The new intense blend uses beans found in the brand’s number-one bestselling decaf range and is made using a natural decaffeination process that employs carbon dioxide to remove caffeine at a molecular level, preserving the flavour and aroma of the coffee beans. This ensures the decaf blend retains a full-bodied taste and aroma, similar to caffeinated blends.
The UK decaf coffee market saw a 45% increase in sales over the last year and 62% of Brits now avoid drinking regular coffee later in the day.
The Lavazza Decaf range includes Decaf My Easy Day Beans, RSP £12; Decaf My Rich Break Beans, RSP £12; Decaf Nespresso Compatible Capsules, RSP £4; and Decaf My Easy Day Ground, RSP £5.65.
