Lactalis McLelland has launched a new Cheese Tasters pack in the countdown to Christmas, aimed at consumers looking to present a well-stocked cheeseboard but who don’t to buy large blocks of speciality cheese.
Pricemarked at £3, the pack offers a range of mini-portions from brands including Seriously Strong, President and Galbani. It contains 12 pieces of cheese, all individually wrapped, across six different varieties, including Brie, Camembert, Crema Bel Paese and Cheddar.
With strong brand recognition across the market, the combined value sales of the three featured brands equates to over £70m in the last year.
Retailers can access the Cheese Tasters pack through all leading convenience wholesalers including Nisa, Budgens, Londis, Costcutter and P&H for availability in store from late November. Cheese Tasters is available in outers of eight.
Lactalis advises retailers to stock it in the middle of their chilled dairy fixture to catch the eye of shoppers who are already thinking of buying cheese, and to add POS to the savoury biscuits and ambient Christmas fixtures advertising that the pack is available in the chiller.
Jason Simpson, Convenience Channel Manager, speaking on behalf of Lactalis McLelland commented: ‘’We know that Christmas is a critical trading period for retailers and with the launch of Cheese Tasters they will be able to offer something new and exciting for their customers.
“In the Cheese Tasters pack we’re bringing together our great brands and delivering consistently high-quality in the varieties that will add a real WOW factor to a consumer’s cheeseboard. Add to this a great value pricemark and we’re able to help convenience retailers compete, meet the needs of their customers and minimise waste.’’
