GroceryAid has announced that Smiths guitarist and all-round music legend Johnny Marr will headline this year’s Checkout Scotland musical extravaganza.
As one of the most influential songwriters and guitarists in British indie music, Marr has worked with the likes of The Pretenders, Talking Heads, The Avalanches, and musician and composer Hans Zimmer – with whom he recorded the score and soundtrack for the most recent James Bond film.
Checkout Scotland helps raise much-needed funds to lets GroceryAid provide financial, practical and emotional support to retailing colleagues in Scotland.
The event returns to Barras Art and Design (BaaD) on Thursday 5 September and is nearly sold out. Tickets are a steal at only £95 + VAT.
