Retail expert John Heagney has joined Grimsby-based wholesaler Dee Bee, a member of Today’s Group, as a consultant working on the company’s continuing expansion programme.
Heagney (pictured, left) has more than 40 years’ experience in retail, with a particular focus on the convenience sector, having worked with owner-managed businesses through to large corporates.
Dee Bee has recently added several units of 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft to its chain. Heagney’s brief will be to identify and select similar existing c-stores or new sites for Dee Bee to purchase and franchise to retailers. He will then work closely with the franchisees, maximising their overall offer to ensure that shoppers choose them as their store of choice.
