Scotmid hire helps nourish Scottish suppliers

Jessica van Tromp

Jessica van Tromp (pictured) has been appointed as graduate trainee for Scotmid.

Working with the company’s Local Sourcing Manager Kirsty George, Tromp will support the commercial buying and marketing teams of Scotmid suppliers through effective product ranging, promotions and marketing.

She will also sit within Scotland Food & Drink’s UK Market Development team, ensuring that both businesses share best practice with the industry through briefing events, workshops and learning journeys.

Kirsty George, Scotmid’s Local Sourcing Manager, said: “These are exciting times in our industry – Scotland’s larder is bursting with an ever-growing amount of quality produce – and Jessica’s fresh perspective will add an extra dimension to our team’s collective capabilities.”

The appointment follows other graduate placements by Scotland Food & Drink with Bidfood, Brakes Scotland and Tesco.
