Jägermeister is adding to its Give It A Shot initiative with the roll out of 10,000 free clip strips and a permanent line of price marked bottles.
Give It A Shot aims to help retailers tap into the £217m ‘party shot’ opportunity and the new clip strips are available free with the purchase of 2cl Jägermeister miniatures. The initiative allows retailers to dual site the speciality spirit in a bid to drive impulse sales, as well as tap into the growing trend for fractionals.
Designed to feature on the tobacco gantry, the clip strip increases the prominence of the miniatures at point of sale and also acts as a prompt for retailers to upsell, as the Jägermeister lends itself to multiple occasions and serves.
Jonathan Dennys, Mast-Jaegermeister UK Customer Marketing and Insights Controller, commented: “The clip strip and permanent price mark bottles are purposefully designed to give retailers a slice of an increasingly valuable convenience share of the alcohol category.
“Jägermeister miniature purchases are usually an incremental sales opportunity for retailers, while also being an opportunity for consumers to trial an ice cold shot with minimum outlay.”
The clip strips will be available shortly from Bestway.
Alongside the price-mark opportunity offered by the ‘magic 8’ at the top of the clip strips, Jägermeister will also be launching its price marked bottles as a permanent offering following a recent 250,000 bottle trial.
The bottles helped to grow Jägermeister’s presence in the off-trade last year. 2014 saw the brand grow by nine percent in the convenience channel.
Available in convenience stores and wholesale channels, the PMPs will be sold across 50cl, 35cl and 20cl formats and will be price marked at £14.99, £9.99 and £6.99 respectively.
