Nuts on the up this winter

Itac nuts

Premium nuts and dried fruit supplier Itac has flagged up an opportunity for convenience retailers to tap into a growing demand for natural ingredients.

The UK market has seen volumes up for nuts and dried fruits up 5% and 3.4% respectively, as consumers become more aware of the potentially negative impact of ultra-processed foods and seek out healthier options.

Itac’s extensive premium nuts and dried fruits range is available to purchase exclusively in the fresh produce section at Booker Wholesale.

The range offers nuts and dried fruits ideal for home bakers in the run-up to Christmas and for those looking to take part in Veganuary in the new year. Available in pack sizes from 350-900g they are not only well suited for baking and cooking, but are also ideal for larger family snacking and entertaining.

Ricardo Miralles, Marketing Manager at Importaco Nuts commented:“The next three months offer retailers a huge opportunity with consumers looking to create festive recipes in the run-up to Christmas and often switching to a more health-focused, vegan outlook in January and beyond.

“Our premium nuts and dried fruits are the very best quality and allow consumers to enjoy the natural magic of nuts and dried fruit. What’s more, because of their long ambient shelf life, retailers are also able to ensure waste – and the associated cost – is minimised.”

Itac has teamed up with chef Thomas Leatherbarrow to create a range of recipes ideal for the winter season.
