The social media accounts of Nisa’s charity have recently experienced a significant uplift in engagement with consumers, following substantial investment in social media strategy. Making a Difference Locally (MADL) reported an increase of 230% in Facebook fans in the three months from the end of March, and a 99% increase in Twitter followers.
The charity’s social media pages also saw a big rise in the average number of engagements per month, with Facebook engagements seeing an uplift of 8,366%, and the average number of Twitter engagements increasing by a huge 10,190% to 1,132.
The improved consumer engagement with Making a Difference Locally online follows the charity’s increased focus on social media, which now not only highlights member and national donations made through the charity, but also regularly promotes Making a Difference Locally using posts featuring products from Nisa’s Heritage own-label range, which carry charitable donations. In addition to this a weekly #MADLMagic competition is featured on the charity’s social media pages, which encourages followers to nominate a local cause to receive a £50 donation from Making a Difference Locally in a bid to support even more local communities across the nation.
Making a Difference Locally Charity Manager, Kate Carroll (pictured), commented: “Social media has become an increasingly important tool for the charity as it enables us to further engage consumers with Nisa’s charity in local stores; in turn enabling our retailers to support even more worthwhile causes. It also allows us to highlight some of the fantastic causes that have been supported through the charity and celebrate the role independent retailers play at the heart of their local communities.”
Nisa’s recent increased focus on social media, which acknowledges the growing influence of digital communication in the retail marketplace, has also resulted in Nisa’s own social media pages recording greater activity levels across Twitter and Facebook. Nisa reported earlier this year seeing significantly increased numbers of Facebook fans and Twitter followers as well as increased engagement with Nisa’s social media activity.
