Ben & Jerry’s has added a new Home Sweet Honeycomb flavour to its Classic range as part of its Together for Refugees campaign.
The awareness-raising flavour, available now, combines sweet cream ice cream with a honey caramel swirl and chocolatey honeycomb chunks. The pack design incorporates a ‘Refugees Welcome’ sign.
In partnership with the International Rescue Committee, the brand is asking consumers to contact European leaders and ask them to support legislation that could help some of the world’s most vulnerable people rebuild their lives in safety.
Ben & Jerry’s UK & Ireland Marketing Manager, Christina Dunn, commented; “At Ben & Jerry’s we’ve always stood up for issues that matter to us, and over the years have championed many causes from marriage equality to climate justice. We’ve teamed up with the International Rescue Committee to say we are together for refugees, and we’re urging concerned citizens and ice cream lovers everywhere to join us in helping to give vulnerable refugees a safe place to call home.”
Ben & Jerry’s has also resurrected two previous limited-edition variants for the winter: Minterwonderland and One Love.
Minter Wonderland features chocolatey chunks surrounded by mint ice cream, whilst One Love combines banana ice cream with caramel, cookie swirls and chocolate peace signs. Proceeds from the latter go towards the One Love Youth Camp in Jamaica, supporting young people in reaching their potential through music, dance, and arts.
Ben & Jerry’s Home Sweet Honeycomb, Minter Wonderland and One Love are all available now as part of the Classic range (500ml), with an RSP of £5.49.
