Hancocks has announced the launch of its range of vegan sweets ahead of Veganuary, an annual challenge that encourages people to adopt a vegan lifestyle for the month of January.
The confectionery wholesaler suggested retailers keen to expand their vegan range should look no further than the pick & mix selection from Kingsway. Favourites include Tongue Painters, Giant Strawberries, Sour Dummies and Dracula Teeth.
Fizzy sweet fans are also covered by Kingsway, with Fizzy Twin Cherries, Fizzy Blue Jelly Babies, Fizzy Cola Bottles, Fizzy Sour Apples and Fizzy Cherry Cola Bottles.
Swedish confectionery brand BUBs also has an extensive pick & mix range, including Skull Sweets in Cool Melon, Cool Cola, Sour Raspberry and Lemon & Sour Skulls. New products for 2023 include BUBs Dizzy Skulls, Wild Strawberry & Pomegranate Ovals, Cool Passion & Pineapple Skulls and BUBs Sour Bolt.
Vegan customers like to know they can enjoy the same branded treats as non-vegans. To this end, Hancocks suggested its Vimto range, including Swizzels Vimto Chew Bar, Vimto Roller Licker Liquid Candy and the Millions Vimto Jar. These should all be merchandised, Hancocks advised, with clear and attractive signage throughout Veganuary to let customers know they can be consumed by all.
Retailers can also stock up on nostalgic favourites like Pez for vegan customers. The dispensers are available in lots of different characters, including Harry Potter, My Little Pony and Disney Princesses.
Other branded vegan favourites, like Rowntree’s Fruit Gums and Fruit Pastilles, are also available from Hancocks.
Chris Smith, Marketing Communications Manager at Hancocks, said: “Veganuary is a huge movement that has grown year on year. We encourage retailers to ensure they have plenty of stock to appeal to customers taking part in Veganuary and at the beginning of the year, when customers may be looking for treats that adhere to their new year’s resolutions.”
