WKD is set to launch of two new variants – WKD Orange and WKD Green; and two new pack formats for the brand’s biggest seller, WKD Blue, which is being made available in both a 50cl bottle and a 330ml can 4-pack.
The arrival of the two new flavours will expand the core range (Blue, Iron Brew, Red and Purple) to a total of six variants, and the roll-out of the new can 4-packs in time for the summer festival season follows a successful trial of WKD cans in selected outlets.
Both WKD Orange and WKD Green will have the same 4% ABV and recommended retail price as their stable-mates. Each variant will be available in cases of 24 x 275ml and 6 x 70cl bottles.
The launches will be supported through a social media campaign, price promotions, tailormade support and provision of free POS materials to stockists.
Debs Carter, WKD’s Marketing Director at SHS Drinks, says: “The orange sector accounts for £35m-worth of RTD sales a year and is showing year on year growth rates of +31%, while apple RTD sales are worth £20m a year and have grown by 69% in the past 12 months. However, in keeping with the WKD brand style, WKD Orange and WKD Green will refer to the colour of the liquids rather than a specific fruit flavour.”
