Love Drinks has launched Spirited Seas in the UK, a new rum from Bermudan family-run producer Goslings.
Spirited Seas is made from a blend of aged, dark Bermuda rums that is transferred into vintage bourbon barrels before maturing at sea.
You read that right. The barrels are put a ship which then spends a year travelling back and forth from Bermuda to the mid-Atlantic, while the stormy seas and air work their magic on the blend. The rum interacts with the charred American white oak over every wave, extracting all of the barrel’s flavour.
The result is described as “an elegant and complex rum with an oaky nose, hints of salted caramel, luscious spice and a silky-smooth finish”.
The 44% ABV rum is available to the retail sector immediately via Love Drinks in 70cl bottles with an RSP of £48.50.
