Warburtons bags Clooney for latest ad

George Clooney

Warburtons has revealed its latest TV advert, starring Hollywood royalty George Clooney and – surprise, surprise – bakery boss Jonathan Warburton.

The new 60 second ad premieres on ITV 1 primetime on Saturday 8 May after going live on social media the day before.

In it, Clooney is seen trying to get hold of Warburton on a video call to pitch an idea to the publicity-shy baker but it doesn’t quite go to plan.

Clooney is the latest in a list of celebrities that includes Robert De Niro, Sylvester Stallone, Peter Kay and Kermit the Frog to appear on screen for the bakery brand.

Jonathan Warburton commented: “We are thrilled to have George Clooney star in our latest campaign. Video calls have become part of normal life for so many of us during the last year, but George Clooney popping up on screen was quite a surprise!”

The fee paid to Clooney for taking part in the campaign has been donated to the Clooney Foundation for Justice.
