The McCoy’s Chips ‘When Flavour Calls’ advert is back on TV in a £1.5m campaign.
The ad, which airs until March 25, is supported by digital and shopper activity.
Set in a seaside fish and chip shop, the advert’s protagonist attracts some unwelcome attention from a gang of seagulls after trying McCoy’s Chips. This unfolds after a telephone conversation from ‘Flavour’. Hence the viewer staggers wearily towards the tagline. Apparently 92% of people who saw the commercial said they were motivated to buy the product.
Chips was the second-largest NPD in the CSN market in 2017 and is currently worth £9.1m, with one pack sold every five seconds.
Jeff Swan, Marketing Director at KP Snacks, said: “McCoy’s Chips have been an incredible addition to the McCoy’s portfolio, capitalising on shopper demand for bold and exciting flavours. This cheeky ad reminds people of their existing love for the chip shop experience but with a flavour-packed crisp. Given the huge success of the product we’re delighted to support it again in 2018.”
KP has increased the McCoy’s Chips sharing pack size to 130g (RSP £1.50), with 70g £1 PMPs and 6x25g multipacks (RSP £1.99) also available. Flavours include Salted, Salt & Vinegar and Curry Sauce.
