First-time buyers acquire Hopeman Costcutter

Hopeman Costcutter

A pair of first-time buyers have purchased the Costcutter store in the Morayshire village of Hopeman.

Tim Moyle and Syanness Tunggal-Moyle will be taking over the running of the business after the previous owners made the decision to retire.

The store has a modern fitted large sales floor with owners’ accommodation and an enclosed private garden. Tim and Syanness are retail novices but have many transferable skills from the commercial and non-profit sectors that will help boost the store’s longstanding reputation in the local community.

Daniel Arrandale, Director at Christie & Co who handled the sale, commented: “Over the 16 years which the former owners ran the business, it has enjoyed excellent growth. We wish them all the best in their retirement and the new owners success in their new venture.”

Funding was arranged through Christie Finance. Director Craig Dickson said: “Due to its reputation and locality, this business represented a great opportunity for a first-time buyer to acquire a successful branded convenience store, and the lending environment in Scotland for retail businesses remains very competitive. I have no doubt that Tim and Syanness will continue to grow the business and we wish them well.”
