Londis hopes new campaign will drive some elfie footfall

Londis-hopes-new-campaign-will-lead-to-elfie-footfall

Londis has launched its first-ever Christmas social media campaign which sees ‘Elfie,’ the uninspiringly-named Londis elf, tour the UK in December and give shoppers a chance to win £500 for their Christmas shopping.

Elfie will appear in secret locations across the country with teasers being issued on the Londis Facebook and Twitter pages to encourage shoppers to find him and take a ‘Selfie with Elfie’. Presumably next to a shelfie. Shoppers then simply upload the picture for a chance to win.

Additional posts will be geo-targeted to specifically highlight the campaign to local people nearer to the selected store’s location. The campaign will be supported by in-store POS to drive awareness.

“This is a great way to build on our existing social media success by doing something fun to create a buzz and drive footfall into stores at such a key time of year. This is the first campaign of its kind in Londis and I’m confident it will prove popular with both retailers and shoppers,” said Martin Swadling, Brand Director for Londis.

Londis retailer Peter Herring added: “Londis has been really supportive in helping us set up our Facebook page providing advice, top tips and free content. It’s a great way for us to talk to our shoppers. The new Christmas campaign is something we’re really excited to be involved in and hope ‘Elfie’ will be visiting us soon!”
