Snacking brand Doritos has unveiled a dual-flavoured tortilla chip.
Rolling out initially as a UK exclusive, Doritos Heatburst is available in two flavours, BBQ (£1 PMP) and Chipotle Cream.
The new varieties are described as offering a two-stage flavour experience. The initial taste of BBQ or Chipotle Cream is replaced with heat, as mini chilli capsules burst when the chip is crunched.
The launch follows the brand’s Roulette variant, which offers random hot tortilla chips hidden among a pack of cheese-flavoured Doritos.
Andy Hawkswell, marketing manager at PepsiCo, commented: “With Doritos Heatburst, we wanted to create a revolutionary new snacking experience that is truly ‘For The Bold’ and we can’t wait to see people experience this latest piece of innovation, which is perfect for all sharing occasions.
“We expect this new dual-flavour concept to generate real excitement, driving penetration and growing the category.”
The new range is available now and the launch will be supported with a high-profile TV and digital advertising campaign from mid-February.
