Diamond Ball raises more than £280,000 for GroceryAid

More than 700 people from across the whole of the grocery industry gathered at London’s Hilton on Park Lane hotel for GroceryAid’s annual Diamond Ball on Friday 6th March.

The evening was a huge success and more than £280,000 was raised through various raffles and auctions. Prizes included diamond earrings, and tickets for the forthcoming Rugby World Cup. The money raised will enable GroceryAid to provide financial and practical support to almost 200 beneficiaries in the coming 12 months.

The Ball was attended by key industry figures with the welcome speech given by John Farrell (pictured above), Managing Director for New Business Development, Tesco Stores.

During the evening, GroceryAid inducted David Andrews, David Ellgood, Simon Twigger and John Whitelock into its Hall of Fame. This was in recognition of their time – at least 10 years – spent volunteering with the charity.
