David’s Kitchen has lodged a planning application for a new store in Kirkcaldy.
The site, on the town’s Oriel Road, is currently occupied by a fast-fit car service centre. Kirkcaldy railway station and Dundee University’s Nursing College are both five-minute walks away.
However, the location is also under 200m from an Aldi store, which sits literally around the corner.
Plans submitted to Fife Council propose a 2,300sq ft neighbourhood store merging into a 925sq ft café area, with 27 car parking spaces to the front and rear of the property.
The new store would be the third David’s Kitchen. The Glenrothes branch recently picked-up the Food-to-Go Retailer of the Year trophy at the 2018 SLR Rewards. The brand’s other store, in Falkirk, triumphed in the Soft Drinks Retailer of the Year category.
