Maison Courvoisier has teamed-up with Chinese painter and artist, Jiannan Huang, for a three-strong Lunar New Year range to celebrate the Year of the Dragon.
The specially designed series consists of Courvoisier Year of the Dragon Blend, L’Essence and XO. The latter two are available now in the UK.
The only mythical creature in the Lunar Calendar, the Dragon represents power and good fortune.
Year of the Dragon Blend consists of a rare Courvoisier blend comprising eaux-de-vie from previous Dragon Years, the oldest of which dates back to the last century. It comes in a Baccarat crystal decanter and is bottled at 42% ABV.
The second release in the collection showcases a special edition L’Essence de Courvoisier (RSP £3,000) that draws inspiration from Huang’s original dragon painting displayed on both the bottle and box, and is also bottled at 42% ABV.
The final Year of the Dragon release is a special edition of Courvoisier XO (RSP £135), bottled at 40% ABV. While the XO blend remains unchanged, a new box features Huang’s deep red dragon design, matching the visual elements of its exclusive sister releases.
“On behalf of Maison Courvoisier, we’re particularly pleased to present this three-part Year of the Dragon series in 2024,” said Maison Courvoisier Chief Blender Thibaut Hontanx.
“Collaborating on the Year of the Dragon collection with Jiannan Huang to create these incredibly special releases has allowed us to explore tradition, heritage, and culture in a new way. It is a truly unique and striking interpretation of the Maison’s tenets of joy and light.”
