The Confex buying group held its 7th Member Incentive event in Tenerife from 5 to 8 September.
Eighty delegates took part in over 500 individual business meetings over two days. Members attended two forums to discuss the group’s current position and future plans, creating a “collaborative and transparent agenda” for the group moving forward.
Martin Williams said he was “delighted” to attend his first Confex Member Incentive as the buying group’s Chairman.
“I found an incredible willingness from both suppliers and members to work together to deliver mutual growth,” he said. “The conference had a positive, upbeat feel from start to finish. The plans that were shared for the future of the group were well received by everyone.”
Member Tom Dunster, of Dunsters Farm, said the message from the conference was clear: “[Confex is] focused on being a forward-thinking, member-led buying group that can adapt in a rapidly changing commercial landscape.”
Britvic’s Steve Stubbs commented: “I thoroughly enjoyed the Confex Conference; in my view the best one yet. It was great to catch up with some familiar faces and also meet so many new members, which has opened up some new trading opportunities.”
Confex is now is in its 47th year of trading. With 31 additions so far this year, it now has over 240 members and represents over 200 suppliers.
