Nisa’s recent Cider Festival was a winner for the symbol group, garnering almost £1m in additional sales on promoted lines, with a 74% increase on the same period last year.
The event, which ran from the 11th to the 31st July, was designed to help members drive footfall and additional sales with competitive pricing on a wide selection of ciders, including a market-leading deal on Old Mout, Rekorderlig and Bulmers 500ml ciders at an rrp of four for £5.
In addition to the above, other ciders that performed particularly well during the event included Strongbow 15 x 440ml at £9.99, Strongbow Dark Fruits four pack at £4.99 and Kopparberg 10 x 330ml fridge packs at £9.99.
The success of the event echoes that of Nisa’s Wine Festival in March, which saw a 66% increase in sales of wines featured in the event.
The event forms part of Nisa’s increased focus on promotional activity for the coming year, where Nisa retailers will experience market-leading prices on key convenience lines.
Leanne Jarrett, Trading Controller for Beer, Ales and Cider at Nisa, commented: “The engagement with our Cider Festival has been very positive, surpassing our expectations and delivering a fantastic uplift in sales.
“Strong promotions and the market-beating deal of four for £5 on selected ciders provided a competitive offer for our members and their customers, and we will continue to work with our suppliers to look at ways in which we can support our members further in driving additional sales and footfall through promotional activity.”
