Checkout Scotland, which took place for the 2nd year running at Baad Glasgow, brought together more than 800 grocery colleagues and raised £53,000 for GroceryAid.
The event on 31 August was supported by 26 sponsors, including headline sponsorship from Brewdog, Irn Bru, One o One, and Rockstar energy drink. Employees from across the entire grocery industry attended the music event and experienced product activations and new brands.
Live entertainment was provided by UK dance legend Example, Irish girl group B*Witched, and indie rock band The Supernaturals. Spinning the decks were DJs Naeem, George Bowie, Jim Harper, Jamie Lasgor, Cassie, and Barry Munoz.
Jane Hill, GroceryAid Fundraising Director, said: “Checkout Scotland brings the Scottish grocery industry together for fantastic music event, which also provides a unique opportunity to make industry connections and build existing relationships.
“This is an inclusive event which is accessible to both large and small brands, plus we are delighted to see so many colleagues from the independent retail sector here.”
Money raised from Checkout will help GroceryAid continue providing free and confidential financial, emotional and practical support to grocery colleagues through Scotland and the rest of the UK.
Checkout Scotland is returning in 2024 on 5 September.
