The National Lottery’s Christmas Raffle draw will take place on December 23, and will feature 220 winning prizes of £20,000 – 200 more than usual – as well as the jackpot and £1m raffle prize.
Not to be outdone, EuroMillions will create 10 millionaires on December 29. POS should be in-store from December 27.
Retailers could be in line for a significant sales uplift if the EuroMillions jackpot, standing at estimated £94m, continues to roll over as the New Year approaches.
Camelot also expects sales of its four Christmas-themed scratchcards to be brisk, as shoppers look out for last-minute stocking fillers.
James Pearson, Head of Retail at Camelot, said: “There’s lots that retailers can start to do now as we get ready for the special draws, such as ensuring that all new POS is out on time and looking great, that media screens are in plain view, and double-checking that their teams are talking about Christmas National Lottery products on offer to customers in-store.
“We’d like to thank all of our National Lottery retailers for their support throughout 2017 and hope this proves to be a cracking Christmas for them. We have even more lined up for 2018, so happy New Year to all and watch this space.”
