Butterkist will release two brand new, first to market flavours in a sharing bag format next month.
Butterkist Choc Mallow Popcorn (170g, rrp £1.49) and Butterkist Coconut and Raspberry Popcorn (160g, rrp £1.49) will both be available in the wholesale, convenience and grocery channels from September.
The Choc Mallow Popcorn is a generously-coated toffee popcorn, injected with a chocolate and marshmallow flavour that offers a smooth chocolate and vanilla hit.
The Coconut and Raspberry variant also uses Butterkist toffee-coated popcorn and combines coconut and raspberry for a sweet and moreish taste experience.
Coconut has massively grown in popularity – by 121% since 2010 – and was named as flavour of the year in 2016 by fragrance and flavour specialist Firmenich. It enjoys the benefits of the wellness trend whilst also being seen as an indulgent treat.
Commenting on the launch of the two new flavours, Anjna Mistry, Senior Brand Manager at Butterkist, said: “Butterkist is all about delivering on our mantra ‘Love the Taste’ and we have definitely done this with these exciting new flavours, designed to tantalise taste buds and have consumers coming back for more. We expect them to sell particularly well as we head into a time of year when consumers are looking to spend more on treats and explore new flavours.”
Both Choco Mallow Popcorn and Coconut and Raspberry Popcorn will be available in single-faced shelf-ready cases of eight.
