Early August will see the launch of a new Maryland Gooeys variant from Burton’s Biscuit Company.
This latest NPD introduces Maryland Gooeys Peanut, a crunchy peanut cookie filled with chocolate ‘goo’.
“Maryland Gooeys was the biggest sweet biscuit launch of 2013, with over 2m households purchasing Gooeys in its first year,” said David Costello, Burton’s Biscuit Company’s Head of Customer Category Management.
“Building on this success, the new peanut variant will capitalise on the surge in consumer demand for peanut butter that is seeing growth year on year.”
The Gooeys Peanut launch follows the introduction earlier this year of Maryland Soft Baked, the American-style soft cookies, and Maryland Mix’ems, targeted at families with teenage children.
Maryland Gooeys Peanut will be available in 160g size packs and cases of eight (rrp £1.79).
