Scotland’s largest independent brewery, BrewDog, has launched its second BottleDog store in the UK in Edinburgh.
The shop is Edinburgh’s second BrewDog site, joining a bar that opened in 2011, and follows the debut of BottleDog in London last year.
The new store stocks 250 bottled and canned beverages comprising BrewDog beers mixed with a selection of global and local craft brews.
A variety of home brewing equipment and a growler-filling station is also available. The growler phenomenon of “take-away” beer has been a big focus for the brewery, creating the opportunity for craft beer fans to enjoy draft-fresh beer at home. BrewDog also recently installed its first “crowler” (can growler) machine at its DogTap brewery tap room in Aberdeen.
BrewDog co-founder James Watt said: “We’re psyched to expand the BottleDog concept as it gives us further opportunity to make other people as passionate about great craft beer as we are; it’s our mission, and BottleDog is the ideal environment for us to do it in.”
Alongside the continued expansion in BrewDog’s homeland of Scotland, the brewery plans to roll out across Europe with further openings in the UK, Germany and Italy planned for 2015.
