A convenience store and Post Office in the Borders village of Stow has been put on the market.
Stow Shop and Post Office, available on a leasehold basis, is heavily relied upon by locals, being the sole store within the area. The store, which provides a range of convenience items and features an Amazon hub, also benefits from commuter trade with Stow being bisected by the A7 road to Edinburgh.
There is scope to expand the store’s offer by introducing hot food and drinks for commuting customers.
It has been owned and operated by Stewart and Alison Runciman for the last 18 and a half years, and they are now selling to retire.
Liam Bain, Business Agent at SLR Awards sponsor Christie & Co, who is handling the sale, commented: “This is a great opportunity to purchase a long-standing village shop and Post Office located in the commuter village of Stow in the Scottish Borders.
“The business is now available for leasehold sale, with a new long-term lease being offered. This well-established business, a cornerstone of the community, offers a variety of goods and essential services, including groceries, newspapers, postal services, banking facilities, and travel-related services.”
