Renton’s Newsagents and Post Office in the village of Chirnside, on the Scottish borders, has been put on the market.
The store, which also offers a wide range of grocery items, occupies a main street location in Chirnside. The village sits 10 miles west from the border town of Berwick-upon-Tweed, in Berwickshire, which is just over an hour’s drive south from Edinburgh and seven miles east of Duns.
Liam Bain, Business Agent at Christie & Co, who is handling the sale, said: “Renton’s provides a great opportunity for a new buyer to modernise the ongoing business and grow the turnover and profitability of the business by introducing a branded coffee and hot food offering as well as obtaining an alcohol license.”
The store, which has an advised weekly turnover of £6,000 and Post Office commission of £16,410, is on the market for £125,000 (freehold).
