Bobby’s busy as boredom bites

Bobby's van

As an increasingly bored stay-at-home workforce seeks comfort in sweet treats, Bobby’s Foods has reported increased customer demand for snacks and cakes.

The van sales operator is maintaining a full direct-to-store delivery service during the Covid-19 outbreak. To continue trading, the Bobby’s team has responded to government advice to restrict social contact and is tailoring its service to ensure all guidelines are adhered to.

Bobby’s sister companies – Hancock’s, World of Sweets and Bonds Confectionery – have also adapted to life with the coronavirus.

Hancocks has reported a doubling in online sales since the confectionery wholesaler was forced to suspend its cash and carry operation.

A spokesperson said: “We want to assure customers and suppliers that we are still operating and continuing to supply our customer base through our online channel.

“We’re working hard to consistently maintain high availability, service and product range online.”

World of Sweets continues to supply national accounts with a streamlined sales team, while Bonds has focused on a telesales operation.
