Ka, AG Barr’s flavoured Caribbean drink, is launching a new variant: Ka Blackkurrant Still.
“Blackcurrant is a huge flavour with broad appeal which is currently growing at 5%,” said Adrian Troy, Head of Marketing for AG Barr. “It is particularly popular with the Ka audience, with 73% of them already consuming blackcurrant drinks.”
AG Barr says KA Blackkurrant delivers a full on flavour hit, but has 35% less sugar than the leading competitor brand, and that the new product performed extremely well in consumer research with 78% of those surveyed expressing an intention to purchase.
“The Ka brand is growing fast at +18%, with over 50m Ka drinks consumed in the last year,” said Troy. “Trial and awareness of the Ka range is increasing on a national basis with both core Afro-Caribbean and mainstream shoppers, making it a must-stock for all retailers.”
Ka Blackkurrant will be available in one litre £1.19 or 2 for £2 PMPs, 500ml 69p PMPs and 288ml 49p PMPs. Packs will be in outers of 12 for the one litre cartons and 500ml PET bottles, and 27 for the 288ml cartons.
