Bestway has announced that the group’s affiliated stores have now passed the 4,000 milestone as its Best-one and Xtra Local stores continue to outgrow the market.
Best-one has posted sales increases of 38% since the beginning of the year and now has 1,113 stores nationwide while the Xtra Local promotional club now boasts 2,895 stores – with impressive value growth of 29%.
James Hall. Director of Symbol at Bestway said: “The growth of our affiliated estate shows that retailers really do want to be part of – and benefit from – a major force in UK retail. Retails now understand that by aligning themselves with a symbol or retail club can have a drastic affect on their businesses. And its not just retailers who are benefitting: consumers are also benefitting as more and more promotions are being passed onto them. This is a major factor in developing shopper loyalty. Consumers are now realising that there are many more reasons to shop and top-up locally at their local store than at the major multiples. Why would you want to go elsewhere if you are getting great promotions and service at your local store?”
Hall added that in little over twelve years, Bestway has gone from having no presence in affiliated stores to becoming a major national branded player with our Best-one and Xtra Local brands. “The growth has been relentless and shows no signs of waning,” he said. “The fact the group is seeing fantastic growth is, of course, due to our commitment to customers in promotions, chilled, own-label, delivery and service levels. However we also need retailers to join us on the journey and are delighted that so many have entrusted Bestway as their preferred partner over the competition.”
