Booker has launched its most sustainable cup to date.
The cup is recyclable, compostable and biodegradable. Booker said it was “a first in the UK”. Its lining is fully biodegradable and breaks down within 90 days in a compostable environment, whereas other cups can take many years.
The cup will be available from Booker and Makro from mid-October in two sizes:
- 12oz Eco Double Wall Cup Kraft Colour, 16 x 30s, WSP £46.99 – around 10p per cup
- 8oz Eco Double Wall Cup Kraft Colour, 20 x 35s, WSP £55.99 – around 8p per cup
“Sustainability is becoming more and more important to both our customers and their consumers,” said Colm Johnson, Booker’s Managing Director for Retail. “This is the most sustainable cup Booker has sold. We are keeping the price low to drive distribution.”
