What is Bobby’s new launch?
Bobby’s has launched a brand-new range of bagged confectionery. Bobby’s has stocked a few pre-packs in the past, but we have never launched a full range. This launch includes a range of proven sellers, modern favourites and fun novelty.
Why have you moved into bagged confectionery?
The sugar confectionery market has grown by nine million since pre-covid May 2019. This growth has largely been driven by pre-packed bags. Since the pandemic consumers have moved away from loose offerings. Within sugar confectionery fruit is the biggest flavour category, which is up almost 13% in the last five years. This provides some content around the size of the market and the opportunity which exists. In addition we have identified customers were tired of the status quo within bagged confectionery, so we worked tirelessly to develop a new and exciting range of bagged sweets for the convenience customer!
The range looks good, can you tell us why retailers should be stocking this?
At mentioned, the appetite for this format is huge but we wanted to shake up the market by providing our own range with a famous Bobby’s twist on many of the products featured in the range. We have focused heavily on the packaging to ensure the range stands out in store and catches the eye of consumers. All the bags have been designed to have a clear and distinct brand DNA running through every pack. Whilst this ensures the bags sit together to create a statement each pack has its own personality, featuring a hero product shot and clear product messaging for easy product communication, along with a much-sought-after £1 price point. Do you have any offers or promotions on these sweets?
We have an introductory offer for any new customers who want to stock the new range: 18 boxes for the prize of 16, which equals £24 of free stock at retail. A bespoke metal stand is also available free on loan with this offer. We have also committed to an ongoing offer for new and existing stockists – this is 11 boxes for the price of 10. Both offers have been very popular so far, with us selling into nearly 3,000 retailers in just the first nine days!
Can you tell us more about the bespoke stand on offer?
A bespoke metal stand is available to retailers and has been designed exclusively for the c-store environment, with a footprint only slightly larger than an A3 piece of paper. It perfectly displays all 18 products. The vibrant and disruptive packaging creates an impactful in-store statement whilst the header board helps signpost shoppers no matter where it is placed in-store.
