Teeling Irish whiskey will join Bacardi’s portfolio of brands from 1 January.
The news follows Bacardi’s decision to increase its stake in The Teeling Whiskey Company, with founders Jack and Stephen Teeling continuing to own part of the business and run day-to-day operations.
“We believe that, together, we can do even more great things for our brand and company,” said Jack Teeling. “By becoming more integrated into the Bacardi portfolio of iconic brands and their distribution across Europe, we will open up even more opportunities and reach for our brand.”
The Teeling Whiskey Company uses both traditional and unconventional techniques in distillation and maturation to produce handcrafted, small batch bottlings.
The flagship of the range, Teeling Small Batch Irish whiskey, sees hand-selected casks of grain and malt whiskey aged in ex-bourbon barrels then married together in Central American rum casks for up to 12 months for a distinctive, dried fruit profile.
