Asda is to open three new convenience stores in Scotland as it converts the Co-op petrol stations it bought last year into Asda Express sites.
The supermarket giant’s first converted store, in Birkhill in Dundee, opened on 4 October and it has now revealed a further three stores will open in Dounby, Broadford and Aberfeldy.
The converted Asda Express sites will stock up to 3,000 branded and own-label products.
Andy Perry, Vice-President of Convenience at Asda, said: “The opening of our first Asda Express store in Scotland is an incredibly exciting moment for our business as we accelerate our presence in the fast-growing convenience market.
“We look forward to bringing Asda’s great value in fuel and groceries to more communities in Scotland as we progress our store conversions.”
The stores are planned to open before the end of March 2024.
