Former MRH boss Cresswell joins Bestway

Andy Cresswell

Andy Cresswell – previously Managing Director of forecourt operator MRH – has assumed the newly-created role of Chief Retail Officer for Bestway Wholesale.

Cresswell takes charge of Bestway’s owned and franchise stores, including those acquired when the company purchased the retail assets of doomed alcohol wholesaler Conviviality.

He effectively replaces Bestway’s Retail MD David Robinson, who moves to Pets at Home as Chief Operating Officer.

Cresswell left MRH in August last year. The company had been snapped up by rival Motor Fuel Group in a £1.2bn deal in February.

His 30-year career also includes stints with Midcounties Coop, Somerfield, Tesco and Safeway. He also currently sits on the board of the ACS.

The appointment is one of several changes at the top of Bestway Wholesale that come in wake of Dawood Pervez’s promotion to MD following the retirement of Martin Race in November.

Former Sales Director Tony Holmes takes up the new role of Retail Director while David Livingstone is promoted to Head of Catering – another newly-created post. Lastly, Ashar Rehman moves up to Head of Operations.
