Aldi Scotland will open three new stores in 2025 – in Arbroath, Baillieston and Kirkintilloch – as part of a £40m two-year investment.

In addition to the new stores, the supermarket has committed to extending or refurbishing six of its existing sites over the next two years, with an extension planned for Galashiels, refurbishments planned for Linlithgow, Glenrothes and Stirling, and further upgrades in Hamilton and Carluke.

In addition, the supermarket will also this year recruit more than 100 new logistics staff to work at its Bathgate regional distribution centre.
