AG Barr hopes to box clever with its latest Rockstar launch, by adding Punched Guava to the Pure Zero range.
“The energy category is one of the biggest categories within soft drinks, making it hugely important for retailers,” explained Adrian Troy, Head of Marketing for AG Barr. “Within this, big can formats are driving this growth at +10% YOY, but it is flavoured energy which is driving the increase at +13% YOY. Two out of the top five fastest-selling big can SKU’s are Rockstar flavours.”
Currently 49% of all carbonated soft drinks sold are low or no-calorie variants and there is growing shopper demand for these drinks within the energy sector. The low calorie energy market is currently worth £47m. By introducing Punched Guava – the best-selling flavour in the Rockstar line up – to the Pure Zero range, AG Barr aims to give retailers an added opportunity to profit from this fast-growing sector.
