The Association of Convenience Stores is reminding retailers about the emotional, financial and practical support that is available through GroceryAid for employees and their families.
GroceryAid is a national charity, offering a range of support for staff working across the industry, including manufacturing, supermarkets, independents, wholesalers, distribution, sales, and all support functions.
The charity has a helpline and a live chat that are available 24/7, 365 days a year, which provide free and confidential emotional support to anyone working in the grocery industry.
ACS chief executive James Lowman said: “We are reminding retailers to make sure that mental health and wellbeing is a priority in their business and to check in with colleagues to make sure that they are aware of where they can turn if they face difficulties and are in need of support.
“GroceryAid is a fantastic charity which provides our sector with a range of valuable resources and I would urge colleagues to make use of the help and support that they offer.”
ACS has developed a Wellbeing Guide which provides convenience retailers of all sizes with practical advice about supporting well-being to staff stores effectively, covering shop floor employees to business owners.
