Nisa has announced strong retailer recruitment growth, as the new management team continues to make progress in reversing the company’s fortunes.
The symbol group recruited 374 new stores in the nine months to 31st December 2015, 199 of which were in Q3 alone. This brings the number of retail sites NIsa is working with to over 3,000.
The news follows a strong Christmas trading period, in which Nisa reported increased sales of 6.3% to £254m for the 10 weeks to 3rd January 2016.
As part of its turnaround Nisa has focused on providing more competitive pricing and sharper promotional offers to retailers. At the same time, the group has improved its distribution and service offering, both to existing retailers and to a broader spectrum of businesses seeking enhanced service, products and value.
Nick Read, CEO of Nisa Retail, said it was the group’s ability to serve and develop a wide range of business types, from symbol retailers through to independent groups, and new start-up operations that need intensive support, that sets Nisa apart from its competitors.
“Our improved retailer recruitment is a testament to our distribution, flexible service, popular chilled product range and award-winning Heritage brand,” he added. “In an increasingly competitive trading environment, it is our success in these areas that has convinced independent retailers to choose Nisa Retail, and we look forward to welcoming more retailers seeking to benefit from our leading services and scale.”
